The history of Queen Elizabeth II Hospital began when a Sale and Purchase Agreement (Signing of Sales & Purchase) was performed on September 9th, 2009.
After the purchase agreements were signed, the acquisition of Sabah Medical Centre (SMC) to Queen Elizabeth II Hospital (HQE II) was made on November 3rd, 2009. This was followed by several maintenance and renovation of buildings in each level begins at the end of February 2010 and was completed on May 23rd, 2011.
The Launching Ceremony of HQE II as Sabah Heart Treatment Centre (SABAH HEART CENTRE) was held on February 1st, 2012 officiated by YBhg Datuk Rosnah Hj Shirlin, Deputy Minister of Health, Malaysia.
