Dr. Barry Kluner is a licensed Chiropractor from Canada. Having worked in Malaysia since 2001, he has played an integral role in introducing Malaysians to the benefits of better posture and better health through chiropractic care and beyond. He blends the concepts of specialized chiropractic adjustments with unique postural and fitness conditioning programs designed to help patients regain and maintain control of their body and health.
How It All Started
” I was first introduced to a chiropractor by my Canadian football club therapist to help with intense migraines. After seeing how significantly the headaches reduced over just a few short months, I was intrigued and inspired to become a chiropractor myself.”
He is one of the most dynamic chiropractors in the region, specializing in family care, postural distortion, and sporting injuries particularly golf. He is the consultant chiropractor for GOLF Malaysia Magazine and has been contributing monthly articles since 2001. He provides exciting and interactive spinal health seminars through BACKTALK, a spinal health education program he developed in 2005, catering to the corporate and public communities. In 2009, he developed PostureWorks, a self help posture care program focusing on the most efficient methods for you to not only fix your posture, but keep better posture as well. Dr. Kluner is also a posture product designer and techno-commercial consultant with BackJoy Orthotics LLC. He is an avid speaker and travels throughout Asia to speak on posture imbalance and many other topics.
His Philosophy
Dr. Kluner believes that balance is the key to all aspects of life. You will often hear him say, “Health is a responsibility, not a privilege.” A healthy spine and a well-balanced lifestyle including proper nutrition, rest, and fitness, as well as a positive outlook on life are the key ingredients for a healthy future.
“Always eager for a new adventure, I grew up in Canada with the desire to learn about and see new places. My father used to say, ‘your eyes are your best camera, take as many different pictures as you can’. After many adventurous travels, I was excited to find a truly hidden treasure in Malaysia; the place to experience the experience! Since being in Malaysia, I have enjoyed the many different cultures, traveled the region, and picked up some new hobbies like scuba diving, coaching and playing American flag football, and continue to develop my interests in film production and Archaeology…and of course, can’t forget the food! Malaysia is a tropical paradise where the food can be just as hot as the weather! Most importantly, Malaysia holds a very special place in my heart, as this is where I met my beautiful wife, Karen. Since getting married in 2008, our little family has now grown by two and I love being a dad!”
Ask As Much As You Can!
Dr. Kluner is a firm believer in patient education. “Understanding your condition is just as important as treating it.” With this in mind, he is well known for spending time with every patient to ensure proper knowledge of the condition, which is an important component of his treatment programs. His ‘ask as much as you can’ policy invites all patients to learn as much as possible about their conditions. He will never ‘crack & go’ or brush you off for the next patient after just a short few seconds of his time. Remember, you aren’t there for the doctor, the doctor is there for you!
