Qualified Fellow of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, London in 1996.
Pursued a clinical fellowship to sub-specialise in the areas of the Cornea, External Eye Diseases and Refractive Surgery in the Department of Ophthalmology, University of Toronto, Canada in 1998.
Upon returning to Malaysia in 1999, Dr Chuah Kay Leong started teaching and training eye doctors, medical students, and paramedics at the Malaysian National University (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia). He also started the corneal transplantation programme at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia during that period of time, before joining Optimax in year 2000.
Dr Chuah is a highly versatile and skilled Opthalmologist. His multi-lingual and no nonsense, straight to the point attitude has made him a huge favourite among patients. He not only treats eye diseases and ocular disorder such as glaucoma, cataracts and keratoconus but also specializes in laser refractive surgery and intraocular lens implantation.
Dr Chuah is also the first surgeon to perform Relex SMILE in Malaysia.
