Metro Specialist Hospital (MSH) located in Sungai Petani, Kedah, commenced operations with only two shop lots and four specialists on July 5, 1993. It was then known as Bersatu Medical Centre.
Later, it was renamed as Metro Specialist Hospital and was officially opened by Dato’ Chua Jui Meng, then Minister of Health on January 18, 1996.
Metro Specialist Hospital (MSH) achieved ISO 9001:2000 for the provision of hospital services,operations and management on 18th of April, 2002. The certificate was awarded by Joint Accreditation System of Australia & New Zealand (JAS-ANZ).
On October 19, 2002 Metro Specialist Hospital (MSH) proudly opened the doors of its new premises at No 1 Lorong Metro, Sungai Petani which has a more spacious and conducive environment to provide for further expansion and development. The total land area is approximately 10 acres and half of it (i.e 5 acres) has been converted to commercial (hospital) use.
Metro Specialist Hospital has a complement of 24 specialists and 3 resident medical officers.
The hospital consists of a four storey building with 95 inpatient beds, 7 ICU, 4 OT’s and 24 consultation suites. Our registered patients are currently more than 160,000.
The Specialist Clinics are opened from Sunday to Thursday from 9.00am to 5.00pm but on Fridays, from 9.00am-1.00pm. The clinics are closed every Saturday. Lunch break is from 1-2pm. On Saturday (official off day), registration of patients will be conducted at the Accident & Emergency Department.
